Ohio joins neighboring states that permit casino gaming
Ohio casinos were the winner with the passage of Ohio Constitutional amendment permitting the construction of four casinos with slot machines in Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati. Approximately 53 percent of Ohio voters pulled the lever for Ohio Casinos Penn National Gaming would operate the casinos in Columbus and
Ohio Casinos construction could begin as early as next year on the four casinos around the state of Ohio. It is projected that 34,000 new jobs will result from the four casinos construction and operation.
Each Ohio Casino will have up to 5,000 slot machines,roulette, poker, keno, blackjack, and craps.
Cash strapped State of Ohio will collect $50 million per casino license fee and 33 percent of all wagering proceeds. Ohio's share of the casino take could be as much as $645 million which will be shared with all 88 Ohio counties.
It is anticipated that temporary Ohio casinos will be in operation in 2010 while construction is underway for the permanent Ohio casinos.
Ohio Keno Now Being Played
Ohio Keno can now be played in over 1000 state licensed establishments. Ohio Keno game drawings are held every four minutes from 11:04 am to 1:44am seven days a week. Ohio keno players can wager $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $10 & $20. Keno players can choose from 1 to 10 numbers (depending on spots) out of a pool of 80 numbers. Ohio Keno players may use a bet card or the Auto Pick feature to select their numbers. Ohio Keno can play up to 20 consecutive drawings on one bet card. Win by matching your number(s) to the 20 numbers selected by the Ohio Lottery. Ohio keno bet tickets can be purchased 7 days a week during normal gaming hours.
Ohio Keno is expected to generate over $73 million dollars to offset state budget deficits
